BetOnline Poker Review

BetOnline Poker suits crypto players who want a HUD already built into the tables and withdrawals that are processed within 24 hours. BetOnline doesn't advertise a no deposit poker bonus, and the $1,000 welcome match is released through rake over 60 days, so you have to play a lot to get all of it. The bigger catch is legal: five state regulators and attorneys general have sent BetOnline cease-and-desist letters since 2024 and no licence number is published.

BetOnline is based in Panama City, Panama, and says it has been operating since 2001, with the core team working together since 1991. The poker room runs on the Chico Poker Network. BetOnline says it is licensed in Panama by the Junta de Control de Juegos, but no licence number appears on its pages. You need to be 18 to play.

The POKER1000 welcome bonus

The current poker offer is a 100% match on your first deposit, up to $1,000. You enter the code POKER1000 in the cashier when you deposit. It has its own terms, separate from the sports and casino offers.

This is a locked bonus, paid out in chunks as you generate rake at the tables, and you have 60 days to earn it. Whatever hasn't been released by then is forfeited. The cashier's Bonus section shows how much rake each chunk needs and when it expires. If you only play a few hours a week at micro stakes, a smaller deposit may be the smarter move.

No deposit poker, missions and rewards

BetOnline doesn't advertise a no deposit poker bonus. You'll need to fund the account to play for real money.

Once you're playing, daily and weekly Missions and Contests pay instant cash or poker currencies, and the leaderboards show the top 200 players. BetOnline credits poker rewards as several kinds of bonus money, each with its own rules. The VIP program has 15 levels across 7 main tiers, from Bronze up to Black III, and rakeback goes up as you climb. Diamond I is the level that matters most: it brings a dedicated VIP host and removes the platform fee on crypto withdrawals. VIP status does not raise your deposit or withdrawal limits.

Games and tournaments

The lobby covers Texas Hold'em, Pot-Limit Omaha, Omaha Hi/Lo and Six Plus, which is BetOnline's name for Short Deck. Cash games start at $0.05/$0.10 and go up to high-stakes No-Limit Hold'em, so there's room to start small. Straddles are allowed, and there's a built-in odds calculator.

Boost Poker is the fast-fold game: as soon as you fold, you're seated at a new table with a new hand, so you see far more hands an hour than at a regular table. Windfall is a 3-handed Sit & Go where a multiplier is spun before the first deal. BetOnline says the network runs more than $3 million in tournament guarantees each month. The current rake schedule has been in effect since June 3, 2024.

The built-in HUD and what software is allowed

The client has its own heads-up display. It tags opponents by playing style (Nit, Rock, Shark, Auto-caller or Maniac), adds an aggression colour, and after 10 hands shows a "luck" indicator. Click a player's nameplate and you get VPIP, PFR, 3-bet, aggression frequency, hands played and win/loss. The catch is that the data only lasts for your session. Leave the table and it resets, so you can't build a long-term file on regulars. The style, aggression and luck lines only show on the Windows and Mac clients.

For outside tools, the Poker Rules allow software that gives you "basic game statistics and information" and doesn't influence play or give advice. They ban any software, AI or tool used to gain an unfair advantage, and the Fair Play Policy also bans bots and subscription services built for that purpose. Third-party HUDs aren't named either way. If you rely on one, ask support before you load it, because breaking the advantage rules can cost you the account.

Desktop and mobile

There are downloadable clients for Windows and Mac, an iOS app in the App Store, and an Android app that comes as an APK, which means turning on "unknown sources" in your phone's settings to install it. You can also play in a mobile browser and use "Add to Home Screen". One limit on mobile: hand history shows only the last hand.

Banking for US players

WhatDetails
Crypto deposits$10 minimum, no platform fee
Card deposits$25 minimum, 2% to 5% processing fee, and a hold of at least 3 calendar days before withdrawal may apply
Crypto withdrawals$20 minimum. No payout limit on Bitcoin, Ethereum, USDT or USDC; other coins capped at $10,000 to $25,000
FeesPlatform fee on crypto withdrawals for standard accounts, waived from Diamond I VIP. Blockchain network fees always apply
TimingCrypto processed within 24 hours, then Bitcoin up to about 1 hour, ERC-20 about 1 to 5 minutes, TRC-20 about 1 minute, SOL, XRP and XLM seconds. Courier check about 7 business days, bank wire up to 15

Crypto is clearly the way to use this room. The no-limit rule on Bitcoin, Ethereum, USDT and USDC means a big tournament score can come out in one go, and a TRC-20 stablecoin arrives about a minute after BetOnline sends it. Cards cost you 2% to 5% going in, which is $20 to $50 on a $1,000 deposit, and the hold can delay your first cashout. BetOnline doesn't say how big the crypto platform fee is for standard accounts, so check the amount in the cashier before you request a withdrawal.

State cease-and-desist letters

BetOnline's licence comes from Panama, and several US states have told it in writing to stop serving their residents. Mississippi's Gaming Commission included BetOnline among five sites it sent cease-and-desist letters to in July 2024, citing state law, the Wire Act and UIGEA. The Illinois Gaming Board followed on February 11, 2025. Michigan's Gaming Control Board issued an order on April 28, 2025, giving BetOnline 14 days to stop serving the state. Tennessee's Sports Wagering Council sent its letter on May 20, 2025, with a June 16 deadline. On June 25, 2025, Massachusetts Attorney General Andrea Campbell's office sent a letter that names poker specifically and warns of penalties up to $5,000 per violation.

BetOnline's help pages only say gambling laws vary by state. Check BetOnline's terms and conditions for your state before you deposit.

Should you sign up?

If you play poker with crypto and want fast-fold tables and a HUD you don't have to buy, BetOnline is a strong pick, and the uncapped Bitcoin and stablecoin withdrawals are a genuine plus. If you're hoping for free play, there isn't any advertised, and the $1,000 bonus only pays you back if you put in enough volume within 60 days. Check the terms for your state first, especially if you live in Mississippi, Illinois, Michigan, Tennessee or Massachusetts.
